Way to go Canada! The opening ceremonies were really nice, and so far everything seems to have gone well.
I didn't cast on during the opening ceremonies, because I had to finish a sweater for my friend's daughter. It is a basic bottom-up seamless raglan, split to make a cardigan. I did the edges in seed stitch, and made the sleeves straight. I haven't blocked it yet, and I still haven't put on the snaps that will close the button band, but it is almost done. Yarn is Kraemer Yarns Tatamy Tweed Worsted in Ginger and Sea Blue.
I did cast on yesterday while visiting the in-laws, starting with a bib. This one is from Mason Dixon Knitting, and was super easy. I haven't blocked it or sewn in the ends yet. I'm thinking of doing something a bit more complicated next time, but don't hold me to it. KnitPicks Shine Worsted in a mystery color.During the men's short track speed skating, I started the first burp cloth. This pattern is really fun, and with this yarn, is making a squishy, super soft cloth that will be really great for Baby. T
here are three mess-ups in it that I'm just leaving in (it's a burp cloth, after all!): one from when the Koreans fell, leaving Apollo Ohno the silver (schadenfreude all around); one from when Heather Kearney won the gold in women's freestyle moguls, and one from when my brother-in-law said something weird this morning.
